The Green Deal alongside the Energy Company Obligation (ECO), is the Government's flagship initiative to increase the energy efficiency of domestic and non-domestic properties throughout the UK. The aim is to improve the energy efficiency of more than 14 million homes by 2020 which is estimated to create more than 250,000 jobs. As a Green Deal Installer or Green Deal Advisor you can able to take part in this improvement drive performing either Green Deal Assessments as a Green Deal Advisor or Green Deal & ECO Installations as a Green Deal Installer.
Energy Company Obligation
The Energy Company Obligation offers funding for energy efficiency improvements in 3 main streams;
- The Carbon Saving Community Obligation (CSCO)
- The Home Heating Cost Reduction Obligation (HHCRO)
- The Carbon Emission Reduction Obligation (CERO)
Properties or families that meet the requirements within any of the ECO streams, are eligible for fully or partially funded energy efficiency improvements. Eligibility properties include hard to treat properties such as those with small or no cavities, or occupants who are in fuel poverty, qualifying benefits etc.
