More than 58,000 energy efficiency measures were installed in homes across Scotland last year – a higher proportion than the rest of the UK.
Quarterly statistics published by DECC show 58,058 loft and wall insulation and new boilers were installed in Scottish homes between January and December 2013 as part of the Energy Company Obligation (ECO) scheme.
That’s 24.5 measures installed for every 1,000 homes in Scotland compared to 20.5 in the UK.
Power companies are required to install energy efficiency measures under ECO, which aims to tackle fuel poverty and cut carbon emissions.
