The latest phase of the Green Deal Home Improvement Fund has now reached the full allocated of vouchers. DECC have confirmed the latest wave of Green Deal Home Improvement Fund (GDHIF) is now fully allocated, after opening the on March 16th.
An additional £5m, remaining from the second release of GDHIF funds last year, is being made available immediately so householders can continue to apply for funding for energy saving home improvements such as cavity wall insulation, double or triple glazing, and fitting efficient boilers.
The GDHIF offers property owners hundreds of pounds of funding towards the upfront cost of fitting energy efficient measures.
Ed Davey, Energy and Climate Change Secretary said: "The Green Deal Home Improvement Fund is extremely popular, and the third release has proved no exception. Thanks to this scheme some of the country's leakiest homes will be warmer and cheaper to heat - permanently."
Money for GDHIF is part of over half a billion pounds allocated for household energy efficiency between 2014 and 2017.
The GDHIF has given a significant boost in the number of households taking part in the Green Deal financing scheme, with the Green Deal Finance Company reporting last month that over 10,000 households applied for or have already taken out Green Deal plans.
