Households across the UK that take up the Green Deal will be eligible for cashback which could add up to more than £1,000. The Department of Energy and Climate Change announced a £125m pot of cashback fund for the first people that take up the Green Deal. Ed Davey, Energy Secretary made the announcement on Friday.

Ed Davey said "The green deal will provide unprecedented choice for consumers wanting to improve their homes and make them more energy efficient. This cash back offer will help get the green deal off to a flying start. It really is a great offer – the more work households have done, the more energy they stand to save and the more cash they receive."

The cashback will be reviewed once £40m is spent and will only be available to the first thousands of households. The DECC estimate that the £40m could be reached within 2-3 months. The rates are;
